Actually, it is a quite good movie made by famous director, Woody Allen. However, its qualification as Best Motion Picture in 1978 was doubted because it met a freakily strong competitor: Star Wars. Star Wars is not only a milestone in film industry but also a flagship for science fiction movie.

After so many years, various games based on Star Wars have been released. Six movies related to Star Wars have been released and they all performed well in box office receipts. Characters like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan have been imitated by many. People still commemorate Star Wars in various ways at present while few can still remember Annie Hall.

3. Crash

To be honest, this movie is quite a good one and its margin with its competitor is not that much as the above two. However, it joins in the controversial line because it has met a special competitor, Brokeback Mountain. Brokeback Mountain is a special movie because it is directed by a Chinese director, Ang Lee.

Before Academy Awards, Brokeback Mountain almost got all the awards it could. It was the movie with the best performance in box office receipts comparing to other nominees. Many people believed that Ang Lee could be the first Chinese director that brought Best Motion Picture back home.

However, Academy Award surprised again. For those who thought Brokeback Mountain deserved Best Motion Picture then brought out the issue of racial discrimination.
