How influential can movie be on earth? Movie is becoming an important part in our daily life. Though Avatar beat Titanic with 3D effects a few years ago, Titanic is still viewed as an eternal classic in film industry.

Coincidently, the year 2012 witnessed the 100th birthday of Titanic’s first and last sail. Titanic 3D is made to commemorate such a grief day. In order to celebrate Titanic as well as the historical issue, a celebration was held named Titanic Belfast Festival 2012 was held from March 31st to April 22nd this year. A range of plays, tours, talks, films and major musical events were made.

3. Gone With The Wind

Before Titanic, Gone With The Wind shocked American with its love story. According to some researches, Gone With The Wind would have exceeded Titanic in terms of box office recipients if factors like inflation had been taken into consideration. The eight Academy Awards winner is still quite influential at present.

On May 14, 2011, a celebration was held in the Atlanta History Center’s Margaret Mitchell House to commemorate both the fiction and the movie. In the celebration, 1920s era dances were taught and the images of Civil War soldiers were presented.

4. Avatar

As the most profitable film in the world, Avatar lags Titanic far behind with 2.7 billion dollars in box office performance. Due to this, on the Earth Day 2012, a celebration named Home Tree Initiative has been held to commemorate the movie and appeals for environment protection. Coordinately, some people also dressed like Avatar on the same day to publicize the importance of environment protection.
